Airlangga: IDR 1.2 Million Assistance For Street Vendors Is Still In The Finalization Stage

JAKARTA - The government has decided to extend the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM) level 4 to August 9. Along with the extension of these activity restrictions, the government will accelerate social assistance.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that a series of social assistance will continue to be accelerated. From a number of social assistance programs that have been realized until August, there is assistance for MSMEs and street vendors (PKL) which are still in the finalization stage.

"The assistance for SMEs, street vendors, and stalls is currently being finalized and it is hoped that the TNI and Polri will immediately distribute it," he said at a virtual press conference, Monday, August 2.

According to Airlangga, this assistance was allocated to as many as 1 million recipients with a total benefit of Rp. 1.2 million. He said the government had prepared regulations to distribute the aid.

Until the end of July 2021, the Family Hope Program or PKH has realized Rp5.15 trillion for 7.44 million KPM. Then the realization of the Sembako Card was Rp. 9.4 trillion for 15.67 million KPM. BLT has been distributed Rp1.48 trillion for 2.18 million KPM.

While wage subsidy assistance and BPUM have started at the end of July 2021. As for BSU, previously the Ministry of Manpower has received as many as 1 million worker data from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to be screened as initial recipients.

Wage subsidy assistance will target 8.7 million workers with a nominal value of IDR 500 thousand per month for two months. However, the assistance will be given at once in the amount of Rp. 1 million.
