3 Days Lost In The Waters Of The Nipah River, The SAR Team Is Still Looking For Supriadi's Whereabouts

RIAU - The joint SAR team is still looking for a fisherman named Supriadi who was reported missing in the waters of the Nipah River, Rokan Hilir (Rohil) Regency, Riau Province, since the evening of Saturday, July 31.

The head of the Pekanbaru Basarnas, Ishak, said the search and rescue team and the local police the day before had searched for victims in the waters where the victim was reported to have drowned and was swept away by the river current.

The 46-year-old victim was previously reported by a colleague to slip and fall in the river. His colleague at that time rushed to get the rope but the victim was already washed away and lost in the river current.

"His colleague had thrown the rope, but the victim quickly drowned and disappeared," he said in a written statement from Pekanbaru, Antara, Monday, August 2.

He explained that Supriadi's colleague at that time had been trying to find the victim for several hours but the victim was not found. This incident was then reported to the village apparatus to be further forwarded to the Basarnas Pos SAR Rokan Hilir.

"To this day, the joint SAR team is still searching. Hopefully it will be found soon," he said.

Fishermen or people who want to fish in rivers or at sea are advised to equip themselves with safety equipment such as life vests to avoid unwanted things.
