JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin reminded the ranks of the regional governments (Pemda) of DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten to abandon the attitude of regional egoism in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was conveyed by Vice President Ma'ruf while giving a briefing during a coordination meeting with the regional government and the Jakarta, West Java, and Banten COVID-19 Handling Task Forces, virtually, in Jakarta, Monday, August 2.
Coordination is very important so that each region does not arise a kind of sectoral ego. As an agglomeration area, high mobility by residents in Greater Jakarta is unavoidable so the potential for the spread of COVID-19 in the region must be anticipated with the right policies.
Handling the COVID-19 pandemic in Greater Jakarta, according to the Vice President, requires good program and data integration through coordination between DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, and Banten Governor Wahidin Halim.
"The handling of COVID-19 in Jabodetabek cannot be based solely on administrative areas. The handling of COVID-19 in agglomeration areas such as Jabodetabek, both in terms of programs and data, must be carried out in an integrated and integrated manner through good coordination between the Governor of DKI, Governor of West Java, and Governor of Banten," said Ma'ruf as quoted by Antara.
In addition to good coordination, integrated handling from upstream to downstream must also be strengthened. Because, according to the Vice President, if the upstream handling goes well, the downstream conditions will be good too.
