Airlangga: 21 Provinces Outside Java Bali Continue PPKM Level 4
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Airlangga Hartarto said there were 21 provinces and 45 regencies/cities outside Java-Bali that were continuing the implementation of PPKM Level 4. .
"For the cities/regencies that are rising outside Java-Bali, there are 21 provinces and 45 districts/cities whose level 4 is currently continuing," Airlangga said in a press conference broadcast online on the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries' YouTube, Monday, August 2.
The provinces with the highest increase in COVID-19 cases are Central Sulawesi, Riau, North Sumatra, Gorontalo, and West Kalimantan.
Meanwhile, the cities that experienced an increase were Medan City, Makassar City, Banjarmasin City, Pekanbaru City, Banjar Baru City, Tarakan City, and Jayapura City. Meanwhile, the districts that experienced additions were Sikka Regency, Berau Regency, and Belitung Regency.
"These are areas where the increase is high and the government gives priority to these areas," said Airlangga.
The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs also said that there was a decline in COVID-19 cases in a number of provinces including East Nusa Tenggara except for Sikka, Lampung, West Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, North Maluku, West Papua, Riau Islands and Central Kalimantan.
In addition, Airlangga also explained that there are still areas where the level of compliance with the implementation of health protocols is still low. One of them is the use of masks.
He said there were four cities with the lowest level of mask use, namely Padang City, Sorong City, Musirawas, and Jayapura.
Meanwhile, the areas with the highest level of compliance include Mimika, Bontang, Pekanbaru, Lubuk Linggau and Bulungan. These five regions achieve 100 percent compliance.
"This is the achievement level of compliance between 91 percent to 100 percent," he concluded.
