PPKM Level 4 Extended, Jokowi Reminds The Distribution Of Social Assistance To Be Done Immediately

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked for the distribution of social assistance (bansos) for the community to be carried out immediately. The provision of social assistance is carried out to reduce the burden on the community in the midst of various restrictions.

"To reduce the burden on the community regarding various restrictions on mobility and socio-economic activities, the government needs to accelerate the distribution of social assistance, social assistance for the community," Jokowi said in a video statement posted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, August 2.

There are also social assistance provided to the community, ranging from cash assistance to assistance for micro-enterprises. In addition, street vendors (PKL) and up to stalls will receive assistance from the government.

"The PKH Family Hope Program, BST cash social assistance, and village BLT. Assistance for micro and small businesses, street vendors, and stalls, wage subsidy assistance has started to run," said Jokowi.

"In addition, the micro-enterprise productive social assistance program was launched last July 30," he added.

Previously, Jokowi announced that the implementation of PPKM Level 4 was extended from Tuesday, August 3 to Monday, August 9. The extension was carried out even though improvements had occurred in all lines.

There were also a number of these improvements, including in terms of daily case confirmation, active case rate, cure rate, and bed occupation rate (BOR).

In addition, Jokowi also reminded his staff not to be careless in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic while still implementing health protocols. This application, he said, is the key in dealing with the spread of the virus.
