Ganjar Affirms That The COVID-19 Trend In Central Java Is Decreasing

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo emphasized that the trend of COVID-19 cases in the province showed a decline although it had not improved.

"I am happy to receive reports that the tents at the hospital have been dismantled. Today the tents at the Tugurejo Hospital have been dismantled, the BOR is also safe, but I say don't be careless and stay disciplined," he said after chairing the COVID-19 Handling Evaluation Meeting in Jakarta. Semarang quoted by Antara, Monday, August 2.

Although the number of COVID-19 cases has shown a decline, Ganjar said all parties must remain alert because according to him, if there are still thousands of additional cases, then it cannot be said to be good.

"If you add 87 cases a day, below 100 it's just good. If there are still thousands, it's not good, then I ask you not to be careless, we need high discipline so that it declines sharply," he said.

Ganjar also commented on the news some time ago which said that the number of COVID-19 cases in Central Java was the highest nationally because according to him there was delayed data being injected.

"The data is being discussed, Central Java is the highest, wow, it's very crowded. I said, it's okay, 'wong' has data 'delay'. There is data that is injected there," he said.

According to Ganjar, there are still case data from Central Java that have not been reported to the center and that is a large number.

"Then Central Java data is higher than central data. What happens, after the data is clarified, usually from the center is entered. That's what we call injection data. So it's injected because it hasn't been done before. That's what happens, so sometimes the data is like that," he said.

In addition to data on COVID-19 cases, Ganjar also highlighted other data including data on deaths, additional cases, recoveries, and vaccine data in several districts/cities that have not been inputted with discipline.

"Earlier at the meeting there was a case, it turns out that there are still many vaccines in several districts/cities. In the Smile application, there are still many, why do they say they have run out. Maybe it has been injected but has not been inputted, or maybe it has not been injected at all," he said. .

The Acting Secretary of Central Java, Prasetyo Aribowo, added that there was a decrease in the "case positivity rate" from week to week.

In the 29th week, Central Java's "case positivity rate" was 38.18 percent and fell in the 30th week to 31.15 percent.

"The BOR has also decreased, the ICU BOR is currently at 70.42 percent, down from the previous week which reached 76.02 percent. The isolation BOR has also decreased, from 66.89 percent in the 29th week, down to 54.67 percent. in this 30th week," he said.
