COVID-19 Update As Of August 2: 22,404 New Cases, 523,164 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 151,216 specimens were examined with the result that there were 22,404 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3,462,800 people and 523,164 active cases," said Ministry of Health data, Monday, August 2, July.

Today's recovered cases increased by 32,807 cases, bringing the total to 2,842,345 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,568 people and a total of 97,291 people.

The province with the most new cases was in Central Java with 3,218 cases and a total of 389,339 cases. Followed by East Java which has 2,489 new cases with a total of 314,592 cases. West Java has 2,341 new cases and a total of 614,137 cases. Then, DI Yogyakarta has 1,566 new cases and a total of 120,702 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 6,212 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 5,829 recovered cases, Riau with an additional 3,262 recovered cases, and DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,161 recovered cases.

No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 26,609,794.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 30.75 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 109,374 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

So far, 47,686,483 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 20,934,425 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
