Government Appreciates Panasonic As Supplier Of Air Conditioning System In Emergency Hospital

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) appreciates the support of PT Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia which has contributed to being a supplier of air conditioning systems in a number of COVID-19 emergency hospitals (RS).

The Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, said that various strategic programs between the government and industry players had been carried out well.

"This is proof of proper cooperation in handling health and providing assistance needed by COVID-19 patients," he said in an official statement, Monday, August 2.

Taufiek added, the government also continues to encourage industry players to contribute to efforts to accelerate pandemic control in the country.

"This effort is also to maintain production activities while preventing the spread of COVID-19," he said.

On the same occasion, Vice President of PT Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia Daniel Suhardiman said that the speed of supply is very important considering the need is an emergency and must be completed in a short time.

"So, we must be ready to fulfill these requests to provide installation support in a very short time," he explained.

Daniel said, the products produced by his company have a strong multiplier effect because they have a fairly long supply chain in the country.

"We supply domestically produced air conditioners and fans with a TKDN value (a high level of domestic content, some have even reached 40 percent," he said.

For information, PT Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia is said to have supplied AC and fan products to meet the needs of Wisma Athletes, Pasar Rumput Hospital, Hajj Dormitory, Flats in Semarang, and COVID-19 Emergency Hospitals in Medan and Padang. The company will also supply AC and fan products at the COVID-19 Modular Hospital in Tanjung Duren, Nagrak Cilincing, and Solo.
