Lille Vs PSG 1-0: Parisians Ompang Tanpa Mbappe Dan Neymar Di Trophee Des Champions
JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain's dominance in the Trophee des Champions collapsed after being defeated by Lille 1-0 in a match that marked the start of the new season of the French football competition.
Launching Antara, played at Bloomfield Stadium, Tel Aviv, Israel, on Sunday local time (Monday WIB), Lille won thanks to the only goal scored by midfielder Xeka.
This result ended PSG's monopoly which had always won the last eight Trophee des Champions matches, as well as proving that the 2020/21 French League title won by Lille was not a mere coincidence.

The victory also made Jocelyn Gourvennec, who has just taken over as coach of Lille to replace Christopher Galtier, started his coaching tenure by winning a trophy.
Match statistics showed PSG dominated 71 per cent of possession throughout the game, but the absence of Kylian Mbappe - who did not travel to Tel Aviv to continue his pre-season recovery - and Neymar who was still on holiday left Le Parisiens relatively toothless.
Lille, who relied on counter-attacks, came close to opening the scoring in the 40th minute when goalkeeper Leo Jardim's long ball was passed by Jonathan David towards Burak Yilmaz, unfortunately the aging Turkish striker fired straight into the arms of goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
Just at the end of normal time the deadlock was broken when Xeka picked up Yilmaz's pass with one touch before unleashing a powerful shot from outside the box that found the PSG goal and put Lille in front.
Mauricio Pochettino tried to solve the failure to penetrate the Lille defense by fielding his new recruit, Georginio Wijnaldum, on his official debut for PSG replacing Eric Ebimbe in the 71st minute.
Three minutes later, Mauro Icardi managed to net the ball into the Lille goal, but the celebrations died down a moment later because the linesman had raised the offside flag on the sidelines.
PSG continued to search for an equaliser and Wijnaldum almost made his debut with a goal in stoppage time had his volley not been saved brilliantly by Jardim, who was the hero of Lille's victory at the final whistle.
The 2021/22 French League is scheduled to start rolling this weekend. PSG are scheduled to travel to promoted club Troyes on Saturday, August 7 and the following day Lille also play an away game against Metz.
