After Transporting Passengers, Pedicab Puller In Medan Dies On His Pedicab

MEDAN - A man pulling a pedicab was found dead on his rickshaw on Pelita IV street, West Sidorame II Village, Medan Perjuangan District, Medan City.

This pedicab driver was found dead by residents in a prone position. Information about the deceased pedicab driver was also shared on social media.

One of the eyewitnesses who recorded the incident said that before being found dead, the victim had taken the passengers.

After that, the victim was suspected of having shortness of breath and finally unconscious.

"He said that the local residents were short of breath, then they started shaking, and they were no longer conscious. Previously, he had just taken passengers," said the witness, Sunday, August 1.

Residents who know and pass at the scene did not dare to evacuate the victim.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Medan Police, First Inspector J Simamora, when confirmed the man died on a rickshaw.

The victim, said Simamora, was a resident of Jalan M Yakub, Medan. Currently, Simamora explained, the victim has been returned to his family.

"Yes, this morning. The victim died due to illness, his family has arrived," said Simamora when contacted by VOI.

From the family's statement, Simamora revealed that the victim had stomach acid disease.

"The victim before stomach acid. It's from his family," he said.

However, Simamora said there were no signs of violence on the victim's body. Therefore, he explained, the autopsy process was not carried out.

"There is no sign of violence, if there is an autopsy, we will. The family also asked to be taken, so we directed the family to make a statement," said Simamora.
