Moderna Vaccine Landed In South Sulawesi

MAKASSAR - The Provincial Government of South Sulawesi has again distributed thousands of vaccine vials to districts and cities. South Sulawesi has received vaccine stock from the central government, Friday, July 30.

A total of 3,730 vials of Moderna vaccine and 3,896 vials of Sinovac vaccine were received by South Sulawesi. Vaccine stock was running low four days before supplies from the central government were received again.

"Today we started distributing the vaccine that arrived last Friday. At the governor's suggestion, we quickly anticipate and distribute it," said the Acting Head of Disease Control and Eradication (P2P) of the South Sulawesi Health Service, Muhammadong in Makassar, quoted by Antara, Sunday, August 1.

The depletion of vaccine stocks is because the provincial government is aggressively holding mass vaccinations and the enthusiasm of the people of South Sulawesi to participate in the vaccination program.

He explained that the distribution of vaccines is mainly for regional and urban epicenter areas. However, other regencies/cities also receive vaccine rations.

"We have distributed three regencies for today. Tator, North Luwu and Bone regencies. We have conveyed it to each district / city, later those who will come will take according to their quota. We ask them as soon as possible," he said.

Muhammadong stated that the distribution of vaccines from the Central Government had begun and was running smoothly this August. So he believes that vaccination can be accelerated with the support of the availability of vaccine stocks.

"We are accelerating vaccination, especially after the launch of the South Sulawesi Vaccination Speeding Movement. It looks like the signs have started smoothly, as promised, starting in August," he said.
