Tokyo Olympics Today, China Harvests 4 Gold Following New Zealand And Czech
JAKARTA - The Chinese contingent harvested four gold medals from a total of 21 pieces contested in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics competition series on Friday, July 30.
Swimmer Wang Shun won China's first gold by winning the men's 200m individual medley at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. Then Zhu Xueying, quoted from Antara, won the gold medal in the women's individual trampoline beautiful gymnastics, when compatriot Liu Lingling ended up winning silver.
The two golds were later followed by the gold in mixed doubles badminton and men's singles table tennis, whose final party was both colored by the All-China Final.
In mixed doubles badminton, the pair Wang Yi Lyu/Huang Dong Ping beat Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong 21-17, 17-21, 21-19, while the bronze went to Japanese pair Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino who defeated Hong Kong representative Tang. Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet two straight games 21-17, 23-21.
While the men's singles table tennis was won by Ma Long who beat Fan Zhendong 4-2 (11-4, 10-12, 11-8, 11-9, 3-11, 11-7), while the bronze went to Germany's Dimitrij Ovtcharov who defeated Taiwan table tennis player Lin Yun Ju 4-3.
Host contingent Japan won two gold medals today through their fencing team which won the men's team epee and judoka Akira Sone who beat China's Xu Shiyan in the women's +78k final.
Three other countries also won two gold today namely New Zealand, Czech Republic and ROC/Russia.
