Indonesia Receives Oxygen Concentrator Aid From Hong Kong Donors

JAKARTA - Indonesia received oxygen concentrator (OC) assistance from a donor agency from Hong Kong. This assistance is for the medical treatment of COVID-19 patients.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir, representing the Indonesian government, expressed his gratitude and high appreciation for the assistance.

"The Ministry of SOEs will distribute the aid through the BUMN Foundation for Indonesia to hospitals in need in the country," said Erick Thohir, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 30.

Benevolence Charity Hall Ltd Hong Kong, a social organization in Hong Kong, has donated 60 units of Oxygen oncentrator (OC) with a capacity of 10 liters worth 30,600 US dollars or equivalent to Rp.444.5 million to the Government of Indonesia.

Previously, as an effort to assist the Indonesian government in handling the pandemic, the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong has approached several partners in its working area to obtain OC supplies to help Covid-19 patients at various Covid-19 referral hospitals in Indonesia.

The efforts of the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong received a positive response from Benevolence Charity Hall Ltd Hong Kong, which is a social institution that often provides aid and grants to various countries in Asia.

The OC was ordered through the manufacturer Guangdong OWGELS Science and Technology Co., Ltd. located in Guangzhou City, China.

The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong communicated with the Ministry of SOEs regarding the arrangements for sending the said aid from Guangzhou to Indonesia. The delivery of the aid was facilitated by using the Garuda Indonesia airline in Guangzhou.
