MEDAN - The City Government (Pemko) of Medan, North Sumatra has increased the capacity of beds for treating COVID-19 patients in a number of hospitals.

"For the heavy ones, at Pirngadi Hospital, plus 200 beds and for the ICU plus 22 beds, as well as at the Adam Malik General Hospital," said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 30.

Bobby Nasution said the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) assisted in the construction of bed facilities, while the medical equipment facilities were assisted by the Ministry of Health.

"There are two hospitals in Medan that have additional beds for treating COVID-19 patients," he said.

The Medan City Government also continues to add places to isolate COVID-19 patients, especially for people without symptoms (OTG) and mild symptoms.

Bobby Nasution mentioned one of the additional isolation places, namely the former Soechi Hotel, which is planned to be inaugurated this weekend.

"Hopefully this Sunday it can be opened at the former Soechi Hotel," he said.
