DKI Jakarta Achieves Child-Friendly Pioneer Predicate, It Turns Out That Anies Baswedan Apply This Method

JAKARTA - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta won the title of Pioneer Province for Child Eligibility from the Indonesian Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) because of the collaboration of all parties. In addition, the five administrative regions of DKI and the Thousand Islands Regency also won child-friendly city/district awards with the rank of Nindya and Madya.

The former Minister of Education and Culture said that this achievement was also due to a high commitment to creating a friendly environment for children's growth and development.

In addition, he continued, attention was paid to the fulfillment of children's rights and protection, as well as the struggle to make all districts/cities into child-friendly districts/cities.

Anies also invited all parties to ensure the right of children to be healthy by protecting them from COVID-19. "Vaccine immediately and register children aged 12 years and over through JAKI," he added.

Previously, the Ministry of PPPA awarded child-friendly cities (KLA) awards to 275 regions in Indonesia because they were considered to have a high commitment to fulfill children's rights and protection. "KLA will be given to regions that have a high commitment to support the fulfillment of children's rights and special protection," said PPPA Minister I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, Thursday, July 29.

He explained that the award was given through an evaluation process carried out by the PPPA Ministry team, a team from an agency ministry and an independent team.

The evaluation was conducted to measure the performance of 24 indicators that reflect the implementation of the five substantive clusters of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, namely the fulfillment of civil rights and children's freedom.

Then, the fulfillment of children's rights to the family environment and alternative care, fulfillment of children's rights to health and welfare. Furthermore, the fulfillment of children's rights to education, the use of free time and cultural activities and special protection of children.
