North Sumatra KAI Requires Prospective Intercity Passengers To Show First Dose Of Vaccine Documents
JAKARTA - The management of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Divre I North Sumatra (North Sumatra) starting July 29, 2021 requires prospective intercity train passengers to show a minimum vaccine document for the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination.
"The application of these requirements is to comply with the SE of the Ministry of Transportation No. 58 of 2021 which regulates the conditions for intercity train travel in areas that are included in the PPKM (Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions) Level 3 and Level 4 categories," said Vice President of PT KAI North Sumatra Daniel Johannes Hutabarat, in Medan, quoted from Antara, Friday, July 30.
The regulation of the PPKM level refers to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 24 of 2021 and the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 25 of 2021. So far, all departure areas for intercity trains in the North Sumatra region are still in the PPKM Level 3 and 4 categories.
"The conditions for intercity train travel in PPKM Level 3 and 4 areas are vaccine documents and negative results of the COVID-19 test," said Daniel.
Daniel explained, for intercity train customers who are not/have not been vaccinated for medical reasons, they can still travel by showing a certificate from a specialist doctor.
Daniel continued, in addition to the vaccine document requirements, prospective intercity train passengers are still required to show a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results a maximum of 2x24 hours or an antigen rapid test a maximum of 1x24 hours before the train departure time.
Customers under 18 years old are not required to show vaccine documents, and customers under 5 years old are not required to show RT-PCR or Antigen Rapid Test results.
"In line with PPKM, starting July 29, KAI will temporarily limit prospective passengers under the age of 12," said Daniel.
Each customer must also be in good health (not suffering from flu, colds, cough, loss of smell, diarrhea, and fever), body temperature of no more than 37.3 degrees Celsius, and wear a 3-ply cloth mask or a medical mask that covers the nose and mouth. mouth.
"Prospective passengers who do not meet the requirements will not be allowed to travel and the ticket will be returned 100 percent," he said again.
In order to create physical distancing, KAI only sells tickets as much as 70 percent of the maximum seating capacity for intercity trains and 50 percent for local trains.
Customers are also still required to comply with health protocols and apply 3M, namely wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance both at the station and during the trip.
