New Intel Lakefield Processors For Ultraportable Devices

JAKARTA - Intel has finally introduced a chipset for its newest processor. Intel Lakefield serial number, this processor will have strong performance for dual screen and ultraportable devices.

Engadget proclaimed, Thursday, June 11, this tiny chipset allows small ultraportable devices to be embedded. Where this chipset has been used in the Intel version of the Galaxy Book S and Lenovo ThinPad X1 products.

"Intel Core processors with Hybrid Technology," said Intel for the latest series of processors, Thursday, June 11.

This allows Lakefield to use a configuration of hybrid cores and Foveros as the base chipset. So that this processor can work more optimally for 3D Design work.

Foveros technology allows the CPU to be placed at a size of 12mm x 12mm and only 1mm thick. Intel claims the new CPU will offer up to 12 percent higher single-threaded performance with lower power consumption.

"We see this from a long-term perspective where we need to take the entire PC industry in a more compact size. For that we are introducing Intel Core processors with Hybrid technology," said Intel Client Computing Group senior product manager Ram Naik.

This chipset is claimed to be very similar to the architecture owned by ARM Big.Little and is used by Qualcomm Snapdragon, Exynos Samsung, and Huawei's Kirin chipsets for cellphones, tablets and even laptops. In other words, the new Lakefield chipset will represent Intel in the battle for ultra portable laptops or tablets.

There are other variants of Intel Lakefield, including the Core i5-L16G7 and Core i3-L13G4 types. These two chipsets will share the fabrication with Intel's latest 10th Gen Ice Lake chipset from Intel. Where the two new chipsets also receive Intel Gen11 integrated graphics support and 6th generation Wi-Fi connections.

Meanwhile, the Core i5-L16G7 clearly has faster capabilities with a base frequency of 1.4GHz, 3.0GHz single-core turbo boost speed, and 1.8GHz all-core frequency. The Core i3-L13G4 itself has a base frequency of 0.8GHz, 2.8GHz turbo single-core boost, and an all-core 1.3GHz frequency.
