Considered Just A Fad, DPRD Doesn't Police Hoax Influencer Gets Third Dose Of Vaccination

JAKARTA - The DKI Parliament has received a hoax news. There are many on social media for uploading photos of an influencer with the initial T who claims to have received a third dose of vaccine (booster), with the DKI DPRD logo emblazoned on the photo.

However, after it was confirmed that this was a lie, the DPRD decided not to take legal action.

At first, when this photo was spread, many netizens suspected that there were irregularities in the vaccination program at the DPRD Building. This is because booster vaccines are currently only for health workers.

When confirmed, Plt. Secretary of the DKI DPRD Council Augustinus denied that there was a third dose of vaccination in the building located on Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta.

"For the third vaccine, which is said to be using Moderna, we don't have it and it has never been given at the DPRD building, booster or third vaccine," Augustinus said Thursday, July 29.

Augustine explained, there was indeed an implementation. COVID-19 vaccination at the DKI DPRD Building, but this vaccination only serves dose one and dose two to vaccine recipients using Sinovac.

However, Augustinus admitted that the room in the photo is one of the rooms in the DKI DPRD Building.

"In terms of building, yes, it is the DKI DPRD building. Confirmation, we believe it is the DKI DPRD building. But the statement stating that there is a third vaccine booster, I do not know," he said.

Because the vaccine booster narrative in the DPRD Building has gone viral on social media, Augustinus will report to the Chairman of the DKI DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi to discuss this.

The DPRD also had time to contact the influencer to ask for clarification by telephone. However, there was no response.

"We tried to contact the person concerned but he didn't pick up. We want to know what the chronology is to be able to post something like that," he said.

Then, the DPRD conducts its own investigation. After a search, the influencer did participate in the vaccination, but only the first dose was vaccinated on June 3 and the second vaccination was on July 1.

After reporting to the DPRD leadership, checking data on vaccine recipients, and checking CCTV, Augustinus confirmed that the claim of the influencer with the initial T being vaccinated with the booster vaccine at the DKI DPRD Building was a lie or a hoax. "Yes, this is hoax news," he said.

Even though he knew that the DPRD was attacked by hoax rumors, Augustinus admitted that his party did not want to report this case to the police. This is based on the consideration of the Chairman of the DKI DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi.

Augustinus said, Prasetyo concluded that the fake news by the influencer with the initial T was just a fad.

"Yes, there is no (reporting). We don't want to go that far. The chairman also doesn't want to take it too seriously or take it to court," explained Augustinus.
