Case Of Alleged Expired Infusion To Patients, Labusel Regent Threatens To Dismiss City Hospital Officials
MEDAN - A video that describes a child being given an expired IV in a hospital has gone viral on social media. The incident occurred at the Kota Pinang Hospital, South Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra.
South Labuhanbatu (Labusel) Regent Edimin responded to the alleged expired infusion. Edimin admitted that he had heard and knew the chronology of the incident.
The regent has assigned his assistant to ask for clarification from the head of the Kota Pinang Hospital.
"Already heard, we already know the chronology, but we don't want to just talk. We have to first hear the clarification from the hospital, why is there an expired drug. Is this sabotage, because we have only been inaugurated for 3 days," Edimin said to VOI, Thursday, July 29.
Currently, said Edimin, his party is still waiting for the results of the police investigation. The Regent emphasized that he would impose severe sanctions on those involved in this matter.
"We are still waiting for the process from the police, if the police declare that someone is a suspect, it is proven, we will not employ him. Who is involved, if the Head of the Division, we will dismiss him, as well as the head, it is automatic. Obviously there are sanctions, we can't allow it ," he continued.
Labusel Regent Edimin promised to evaluate the services at the Kota Pinang Hospital. According to him, so far the service at the regional hospital is not good.
"In the future, we will evaluate all of them, because so far, we consider their services to be not good. More people are seeking treatment at private hospitals than local ones, meaning the service is not good," he continued.
