Position 17 Out Of 18 Participants, Mutiara/Melani Failed To Bring Home A Medal In The Olympic Rowing

JAKARTA - Indonesian rowers Mutiara Rahma Putri/Melani Putri completed their struggle at the Tokyo Olympics by placing 17th in the women's lightweight doubles scull competition.

This result was obtained after Final C which took place at Sea Forest Waterway, Tokyo Bay, Thursday, they finished fifth with a time of 7 minutes 25.06 seconds.

They are 19.24 seconds adrift of the Argentinian pair Milka Kraljev/Evelyn Maricel Silvestro who are in pole position of Final C with a time of 7 minutes 05.82 seconds.

That way, when combined with all the participants who appeared in the final of the women's lightweight doubles scull number, Mutiara/Melani finished the Tokyo Olympics by being in 17th place out of 18 participants.

The leading position as well as the gold winner is the representative of Italy Valentina Rodini / Federica Cesarini with a time of 6 minutes 47.54 seconds. Meanwhile, the silver was won by the representatives of France, Laura Tarantola/Claire Bové, with a score of 6 minutes 47.68 seconds, 0.14 seconds adrift of the winner of the competition.

The bronze belonged to the Dutch rower Marieke Keijser/Ilse Paulis with a time of 6 minutes 48.03 seconds or a difference of 0.49 seconds from Rodini/Cesarini.

Referring to Mutiara/Melani's record time, this third performance is much better than before. When they debuted in heat 1, they recorded a time of 7 minutes 52.57 seconds.

Then on the second chance or in the repechage 1 round, Mutiara/Melani were far behind with a time of 8 minutes 03.19 seconds.
