Pinterest Users Can Now Find Money In Apps
JAKARTA - Pinterest has just announced a new feature, namely monetization, where users around the world can now earn money from the application.
According to Pinterest, content creators can tag their products with an Idea Pin that allows their content to be purchased. Users can also now earn commissions via affiliate links and partner with brands on sponsored content, such as on other social platforms Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
Idea Pin, which is similar to TikTok, offers a way for content creators to produce content that incorporates music, video, and other interactive elements.
Videos in Idea Pins can be up to 60 seconds long per page, for a total of up to 20 pages per Pin. Creators can also add other features to their Pins, such as stickers or music, and tag other creators.
The new Idea Pin product tagging tool will roll out to all business accounts in the US and UK. This tool will continue over the coming months for content creators around the world.
Before this, content creators on Pinterest could make money. But, it's kind of a manual process. Content creators should link their content to blogs in the hope that visitors will generate Adsense revenue.
They need to reach out to brands and companies for sponsorship. It is exactly like the YouTube platform, where there is already a monetization feature built into it and all the user needs to do is post videos.
In fact, Pinterest's monetization feature is quite far behind other social media, Instagram in particular, has entered the Pinterest realm in such a way that many users today start their search for shopping inspiration on the app first.
Instagram has catered to this growing pool of online shoppers by turning its platform into a sort of online marketplace, competing with dedicated store buttons, built-in checkout features, product drop alerts, and multiple ways for content creators to profit from their work.
