The National Police Chief Issues Orders For Escorting Social Assistance And Budget Assistance For COVID-19
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ordered all his staff to assist in accelerating the absorption of the COVID-19 pandemic budget and overseeing the distribution of social assistance (bansos). The goal is to prevent naughty practices.
"All of his staff provide assistance in accelerating the absorption of the COVID-19 pandemic budget to oversee the distribution of social assistance (bansos) on target," said Sigit in his statement, Thursday, July 29.
The order contained in the Telegram Letter (ST) number ST/1488/VII/RES.3./2021, the National Police Chief also asked his staff to communicate and coordinate with the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP).
"Building synergies and supervisory cooperation through the establishment of a desk, implementing law enforcement as a last resort by prioritizing the role of APIP and maximizing the recovery of state losses," said Sigit.
Then, Sigit also asked his staff if they found a violation in its implementation, it must be proven professionally. Moreover, it is accompanied by the results of the BPK examination which states that there is a state loss.
"Errors in budget management must be proven by malicious intent or intentional and accompanied by the results of the RI BPK examination which states that there are real state financial losses," said Sigit. As for the social assistance escort, Sigit emphasized that the aim was to ensure that the distribution was right on target. Especially to the people who were affected during the implementation of PPKM Level 4
"The National Police is ready to provide security and assist the distribution process of social assistance from the government to the community, to ensure that the distribution is fast, on target and in accordance with the predetermined allocation," said Sigit.
"Accelerate the distribution of social assistance because the community really needs it. And involve community groups in the distribution," he continued.
On the other hand, Sigit ensured that the National Police and the Attorney General's Office (AGO) had a joint commitment to jointly oversee the acceleration of the COVID-19 pandemic budget.
"The National Police and the Prosecutor's Office are committed to monitoring, warning and assisting in accelerating the absorption of the COVID-19 response budget," said Sigit.
