PKB: No Need For DPR Members Begging For Isoman Facilities, Shame!
JAKARTA - The plan to provide self-isolation facilities (isoman) for DPR members is still hot. Although it is not known how much of the state budget has been disbursed by the Secretariat General of the DPR in this policy, the majority of the council also refused. Commission II member of the DPR PKB Faction, Yanuar Prihatin, assessed that people's representatives who were exposed to COVID-19 really did not deserve hotel facilities for self-isolation. In the midst of various difficulties faced by the community, according to him, such a plan really hurts people's hearts.
Moreover, residents who are exposed to COVID-19 must queue to get services at the hospital. They also do not necessarily get a room. "For those who are severely exposed because of other congenital diseases, it is not necessarily the case that hospitals have available rooms to accommodate them. Try to feel this kind of emergency situation," said Yanuar, Thursday, July 29. Yanuar said, for the lower classes who were exposed to COVID-19, their situation would be even more difficult. This is because the free medicines prepared by the government do not necessarily reach them completely.
"It's a bit embarrassing if then members of the DPR ask for special facilitation for self-isolation in the midst of the people's troubled atmosphere. The impression is really spoiled, aji while and underestimate the suffering of the people below. Where is the sympathy and empathy for the suffering of others?," said the West Java legislator.
According to Yanuar, DPR members have the ability to take care of themselves if exposed to COVID-19. "They must understand what to do. They can afford to buy their own medicines. They can self-isolate wherever they want," he said.
So, he added, the state does not need to overdo the isoman facilities for members of the DPR. Even if there is a special budget for the facilitation, said Yanuar, it is better to channel it to the needs of the community. "And there is no need for members of the DPR to beg the government for the privilege of isoman facilities," he said.
