TNI AD Persons Involved In Killing Journalists In Simalungun, Pangdam I/BB: We Will Process Legal

MEDAN - Pomdam I/Bukit Barisan revealed the involvement of members of the Indonesian Army in the case of the death of journalist Marsal Harahap in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra.

"Steps have been taken by Kodam I/BB through Pomdam I/BB related to the planned persecution allegedly carried out by Praka AS against Marsal who is a journalist," said Commander of the I/BB Military Command Major General Hasanuddin as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 28.

Hasanuddin said that based on the results of the investigation, three other TNI AD officers, namely DE, LS, and PMP, were providers and sellers of illegal firearms. Hasunuddin confirmed that the three new suspects had been detained by investigators.

The Military Commander stated that the persecution allegedly carried out by members of the TNI occurred on Jalan Tutwuri Huta VII, Nagori Karang Anyer, Gunung Maligas District, Simalungun Regency, Friday, June 18.

Regarding the case, he said, Pomdam I/BB had visited the scene and secured 15 witnesses.

"From the results of the crime scene, testimony of witnesses, evidence of CCTV footage and others, the perpetrator is suspected to be a member of the Indonesian Army on behalf of Praka AS, and it is still being developed that there may be other suspects," he said.

Hasanuddin said that currently the members of the TNI AD have been detained at the Pomdam I/BB for further investigation and investigation, while the civilian perpetrators are being processed according to legal regulations at the Simalungun Police.

"I make sure that there is no intervention in handling this case, we will proceed with the legal process according to the provisions of the law and applicable procedures, Kodam I/BB has proven its commitment to revealing this case clearly. in that case," said the Commander.

Previously, the police named three suspects in the murder of a journalist who is also the owner of online media or online lasernewstoday in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra.
