PPKM Easing Has Not Been Able To Boost Buyers At Klewer Market Solo
SOLO - The easing policy at PPKM level 4 has not been able to boost visits at Pasar Klewer Solo.
Chairman of the Klewer Market Traders Association (HPPK) Tafif Harjono said that on the first day of easing PPKM only a few buyers entered. In fact, the number does not reach hundreds.
Meanwhile, in terms of traders, he said, not all of them have started selling. According to him, of the approximately 3,000 traders in the market, on the first day of the easing, only about 85 percent were selling.
"Today, I see that it has started to increase, but not all traders are selling," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 28.
Tafif said that not every trader could sell online during the market closure which had occurred due to the implementation of the emergency PPKM.
"Online sales are carried out directly by traders, not resellers. Unlike in other markets," he said.
Mentioned about the number of visits, he admitted, the decline did not only occur during the COVID-19 pandemic but also before the pandemic.
"For the past five years, the number of visits has decreased. Klewer Market is not as busy as it used to be. Since the construction, there have been some traders who have lost contact with middlemen. We have to look for more, after we moved from the temporary market to the new market, there has been a pandemic," continued Tafif.
Meanwhile, related to the implementation of health protocols, he said, the association's administrators also continued to supervise. He said socialization related to the implementation of health protocols was also continuously carried out by Satpol PP, TNI, and Polri officers.
"It was the same this morning, there was supervision and socialization of health protocols from them. There was even a command post," said Tafif.
