Minister Of Home Affairs Asks Local Governments To Immediately Pay Healthcare Incentives

INDRAMAYU - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian asked the local government to accelerate the payment of incentives for health workers (nakes), because the budget has been disbursed through the General Allocation Fund (DAU).

"There are several factors that prevent the incentives for health workers from being implemented, perhaps because they did not know that the central government thought the budget would be paid for by the central government, it was not," he said during a working visit at the Indramayu Regent's Pendopo, West Java, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 28.

According to the Minister of Home Affairs, there is a division of the budget for health workers, in which the budget for health workers who are the responsibility of the central government comes from the Ministry of Health, while for regional health workers, the budget is taken from the DAU.

Tito Karnavian said incentives for health workers who handle COVID-19 must be paid immediately because the central government has budgeted for it.

Therefore, his party reminded the local government to immediately realize the health worker incentives, considering that they are the front line in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Please, this incentive for health workers is a real concern, Mr. President, because they are the front line and we must provide motivation and encouragement," said the Minister of Home Affairs.

He added that the DAU has stated that 8 percent is an incentive for health workers so that local governments must understand and realize it.

"And if there are regions that have not paid incentives for health workers, they must be realized immediately," said the Minister of Home Affairs.
