JAKARTA - Patients or residents of Malang East Java who are in self-isolation (isoman) due to COVID-19 can now get free consultation services from doctors.
This service is provided by the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Malang Raya Branch, East Java. Head of IDI Malang Raya Branch, Dr. Djoko Heri, said that the free consultation service for the community was carried out because currently the number of positive COVID-19 patients who were self-isolating was recorded quite a lot.
"We provide this free consultation service, because many patients are undergoing self-isolation due to exposure to COVID-19," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 28.
He explained that the patients who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 who underwent self-isolation, there were still many who did not know what to do when self-isolating at home.
Several things that the COVID-19 patient who is undergoing self-isolation must understand, he said, including what to do when there are complaints such as shortness of breath, medicines that must be consumed, and others.
"Many patients do not know what to do during self-isolation. How can families who are both undergoing self-isolation help each other, if there are complaints, what are the medicines to be taken," he said.
In addition to providing free consultation services to people who are self-isolating, IDI Malang Raya Branch will also provide facilitation if the patient must immediately contact the puskesmas or task force to get further treatment.
"We also provide facilitation, how self-isolating patients must contact the puskesmas, or the COVID-19 Handling Task Force in each kelurahan," he said.

Several procedures that must be followed by self-isolating patients include, the patient introduces himself according to his original identity, only chats, and does not receive calls, except with the approval of the doctor on duty. Meanwhile, in the Greater Malang area, which consists of Malang City, Malang Regency, and Batu City, there are at least 4,300 residents who are undergoing independent isolation due to exposure to the Corona virus.
Based on data from each local Health Office, in Malang City, there are approximately 1,634 self-isolated patients, Malang Regency 2,626 patients, and Batu City approximately 65 patients undergoing isoman.
It was recorded, in Malang Raya, there were a total of 22,029 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of the total, 13,932 people were reported to have recovered, 1,336 were declared dead, and the rest were under treatment.
