Entrepreneurs Still Object To Restrictions On Mall Operations Only Until 17.00 In PPKM Level 3 Areas
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) admitted that it still objected to the policy of limiting mall operations in areas with the status of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level 3. local.
APPBI Chairman Alphonzus Widjaja considered that although malls were allowed to operate, the existence of this policy would not maximize sales.
Furthermore, Alphonzus said that the impact of the regulation is that entrepreneurs will certainly lose money, because the income is not commensurate with the operational costs and production costs.
"Night is the peak hour for shopping centers and restaurants. If they only operate until 17.00 hours, shopping centers and restaurants will lose their peak visit," he said when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, July 28.
Even so, Alphonzus admitted that his party welcomed the easing efforts given by the government for shopping centers located in the PPKM level 3 area.
"Shopping centers welcome the easing given to shopping centers located in level 3 areas, although of course it will still be burdensome," he said.
In the future, said Alphonzus, APPBI hopes that the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country can be overcome immediately so that the economy will slowly recover.
