Are You A Food Stall Or Coffee Shop Business? Beware Of 'Bonus' Tax Cut 10 Percent From Pontianak City Government

PONTIANAK - The Pontianak City Government, West Kalimantan, will provide tax breaks for business actors, such as coffee shops, restaurants and the like.

However, this 'bonus' only applies to food stalls that strictly implement health protocols in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

"We will provide innovations for business actors so that they can survive and even grow as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Pontianak City," said Pontianak Mayor Edi Rusdi Kamtono in Pontianak, Antara, Wednesday, July 28.

The innovation is to give awards for business actors who apply health protocols in running their businesses, such as providing a minimum tax break of 10 percent that they should pay to the government.

"We may later provide tax relief for several months, so that apart from helping the government in suppressing COVID-19 cases, it also aims to assist business actors in overcoming their current difficulties," he said.

This, according to him, in addition to driving the economy, on the one hand also helps the government in suppressing or even breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19 in Pontianak City.

"Meanwhile, for business actors who are negligent or negligent in implementing the prokes, we will give sanctions, even up to the closing of their activities for a while," he said.

This, according to Edi, was based on his own input and advice from the business actors themselves after holding meetings with relevant agencies in Pontianak City in finding solutions for business actors so that they can survive and thrive in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On that occasion, Edi added, currently Pontianak City is already in the orange zone with a number of 1.89 or still high, so PPKM level IV is still being applied.

For this reason, Edi asked business actors to support the policy for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level IV in Pontianak City.

According to him, with joint efforts between the Pontianak City Government and business actors, Pontianak City is expected to be able to get out of PPKM level IV which is valid from 26 July to 2 August 2021.

"This will be achieved if there is cooperation and support from business actors and all the people of Pontianak City," he said.
