Pandemic Becomes Momentum For Life Insurance Agents To Continually Innovate
JAKARTA - Professional insurance agents who are members of the MDRT platform or the Million Dollar Round Table, today, Wednesday, July 28, start the 'MDRT Day Indonesia 2021' Virtual Event. This year's event will last for two days, until Thursday 29 July 2021, with the theme Beyond The Horizon.
The theme Beyond The Horizon is the choice of MDRT Day Indonesia 2021 considering that 2020 is a very challenging year for all lines of industry including insurance. Many insurance agents are faced with the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But actually behind this pandemic storm there is actually a horizon line or horizon that symbolizes a new opportunity and a new hope. The pandemic is a momentum for agents to continue to innovate so that it has a positive impact on the achievement of personal production (personal selling) and increasing leadership competencies.
The implementation of MDRT Day Indonesia 2021 is not much different from the previous year considering the still high condition of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason, the event was held virtually, where the speakers had recorded before the current PPKM conditions, the series of events were also presented with very interesting entertainment and all participants could join through online streaming for two days wherever they were.
Committee Chair of MDRT Day Indonesia 2021, Johan Fanggara said, although there was a decline in participants in this pandemic condition, the enthusiasm of participants for the MDRT Day event was still quite high, as evidenced by more than 5,000 participants who attended this year's event.
The high enthusiasm of the MDRT Day Indonesia seminar participants every year is in line with the presence of seasoned speakers, most of whom include professional agents who have been registered with MDRT for more than 10 years, both from Indonesia and abroad.
"Thus the purpose of holding MDRT Day is maintained, namely to provide insight and share inspirational stories among life insurance agents, encourage insurance agent professionalism through increased competence, which not only has an impact on productivity but also more fundamentally is the capacity of insurance agents as financial planners. reliable in the insurance sector and can compete as an advisor in the global financial market," said Johan.

For the first time, MDRT Day Indonesia will hold a Top of the Table Talkshow or TOT Talkshow, which brings together the best practitioners and people in the insurance industry, who actually reached the Top of the Table level during the pandemic.
MDRT Indonesia Country Chair Miliana Marten said the challenge of the MDRT committee today is how to increase the number of MDRT members in Indonesia. The new normal situation certainly brings many changes to all of us. The biggest change that is felt is how we must begin to enter the digital era.
Of the total life insurance agents that reached 610,744, only about 0.5 percent joined the MDRT forum. However, the number of MDRT members in Indonesia continues to increase every year.
"For 2021, we have exceeded our target, initially 3,500 in 2021 but now it has increased by 33 percent to 3,641 members. We are optimistic that by 2022 the number of MDRT Indonesia members can reach more than 5,000 members," said Miliana.
