PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono Brings Good News: Boyolali Hajj Dormitory Emergency Hospital Ready To Operate August 2
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the Haji Donohudan Dormitory, Boyolali which was converted into an emergency COVID-19 hospital (RS) was ready to be used and would start operating on August 2 next week.
"This emergency hospital will later become the focus of handling COVID-19 patients from the Greater Solo area, such as Sragen, Klaten, Boyolali and Solo," he said in a statement during a direct inspection of the facility, Wednesday, July 28.
Basuki added that the Haji Donohudan Dormitory is equipped with patient isolation facilities with a capacity of 352 beds consisting of 344 treatment beds and 8 high care unit (HCU) beds. The number of health workers who will handle the Boyolali emergency hospital is said to be 128 people.
"On July 31, all medical devices (alkes) will come in so that on August 2 they will be ready for use," he said.
To note, the Solo Raya area is included in the PPKM Level 4 category. For this reason, the existence of this medical facility is expected to support health care in the area.
"This hospital will treat patients with mild to moderate symptoms," he said.
For information, the Minister of Finance (Minister of Finance) Sri Mulyani reported that the construction of COVID-19 emergency hospitals in a number of regions had spent a budget of no less than IDR 2.75 trillion. This budget was taken from the 2021 National Economic Recovery (PEN) fund for the health sub-sector, which amounted to Rp. 214.95 trillion.
Some of the emergency hospitals in question include the Pondok Gede Hajj dormitory, the Surabaya Hajj guesthouse, the Boyolali Hajj hostel, the Bandung student dormitory, and the Yogyakarta student dormitory which is still under construction.
