Defeated From China's First Seed, Praveen/Jasmine's Steps At The Tokyo Olympics Have Stopped

JAKARTA - The pair's steps from Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti were stopped in the quarter-finals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after they were defeated by the first seeds from China Zheng Si Wei / Huang Ya Qiong.

In the match which took place on Wednesday at Field 2 Musashino Forest Sport Plaza, Tokyo, Japan, Praveen/Melati, who are the fourth seeds, were defeated 17-21, 15-21 in 35 minutes.

Quoted by Antara from the BWF page, the first game didn't go smoothly for Praveen/Melati. There was a fierce rivalry between the two pairs from the start. Zheng/Huang took the lead, while Praveen/Melati stuck tight.

Praveen / Melati were able to equalize 14-14. But after that Zheng/Huang took the lead again and swiftly secured the final points. Losing quickly, Praveen/Melati were forced to lose the first game 17-21.

In the second game, things didn't change much. Praveen/Melati are still under pressure. They don't change the pattern of the game, it's still the same as the previous game. Not surprisingly, the opponent is getting easier to steal points.

The Garuda representative's resistance is also fairly weak. They were not able to find a gap through the opponent's defense, not even once their position was even. Praveen/Jasmine is like being carried away by the Zheng/Huang game.

Praveen/Melati are still behind near the end of the game, the position is already 15-20. Unable to catch up anymore, they gave up 15-21.

With these results, Praveen / Melati could not continue to the semifinals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. They were forced to bury their dream of holding a medal in the most prestigious event in the world.

Losing Praveen/Melati, Indonesia still has two representatives who will compete on Wednesday afternoon, namely the Men's Singles Group J Anthony Sinisuka Ginting against Sergey Sirant of the Olympic Refugee Team at 16.00 WIB.

Then closed with the appearance of the men's singles Group G Jonatan Christie who will challenge Singapore's Loh Kean Yew at 17.20 WIB.

Previously, the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung successfully secured a ticket to the last 16 after overthrowing Belgian player Lianne Tan 21-11, 21-17.
