The Theft Case Of 400 Super Red Arowana Fish Worth Rp24 Billion Belonging To Irfan Hakim's Friend Was Revealed By The Police

BOGOR - Bogor Resort Police, West Java revealed the theft of around 400 arowana fish worth Rp. 24 billion, from one of the cultivation sites in the Sukahati area, Cibinong, Bogor Regency.

"Initially the victim (KE) was suspicious because the pond containing Super Red Arowana fish was reduced," said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Harun as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 27.

According to him, the theft which took place since February 2019 involved four suspects, namely a man with the initials UG (30) who was an employee of KE arowana fish farming. Then WH and UY, UG's partners who helped launch the action, and ES (29) as intermediaries.

However, the suspects WH and UY are still in the search process and are on the wanted list (DPO).

"The way to catch him was provoked by two of his friends who also helped in the WH and UY ponds. The results were sold to ES collectors, which we have also secured. However, from the perpetrators there are also those who sell individually. Some are small, some are big in price. from around Rp. 500 thousand to Rp. 5 million," said Harun.

From the examination, it was known that the suspect had stolen arowana fish of various sizes of Super Red until the end of 2019 reaching 400 individuals.

"The suspect UG is charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code and or Article 372 of the Criminal Code. If the suspect ES is charged with Article 480 of the Criminal Code," he said.

Celebrity Irfan Hakim who was present at the press conference as an ornamental fish hobbyist expressed his gratitude to the police who had arrested the perpetrator of the theft of his friend's arowana fish.

"I am a friend of KE. He is an animal lover. He is an arowana conservationist, one of Indonesia's wealth and pride. He has been accompanied by trusted people for more than 30 years, unfortunately one of them betrayed him. Hopefully this will have a deterrent effect, and I thank you The Bogor Police have arrested this perpetrator," said Irfan.
