KPK Will Follow Up On Stepanus 'Case Broker' Recognition Received Rp500 Million From Mayor Of Cirebon
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will follow up on all the facts revealed in the alleged bribery trial for handling the case with the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial at the Medan Corruption Court on Monday, July 26 yesterday.
One of them is the confession of a former KPK investigator from the police, Stepanus Robin Pattuju, who admitted to receiving Rp500 million from the inactive Cirebon Mayor Ajay Muhammad Priatna.
"All witness statements and other trial facts in this case will certainly be re-confirmed to witnesses who will be presented and other evidence on other trial agendas," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, July 27 .
Later, the anti-corruption commission will follow up if there are new findings from the statements of Stepanus and other parties. However, all of these findings must be corroborated by two pieces of sufficient evidence.
"We ensure that we will follow up on it according to the authority of the KPK," he said. As previously reported, Stepanus Robin Pattuju admitted that he received Rp500 million from Ajay in the trial yesterday. He was present as a witness at the trial.
Apart from Ajay, he also admitted to receiving money from former Kutai Regent Kertanegara Rita Widyasari. It's just not specified how much money he received.
In addition, he also dismantled the communication between the defendant, the Mayor of Tanjungbalai and the Deputy Chair of the KPK, Lili Pintauli Siregar. According to him, the communication relates to the case of buying and selling positions in the Tanjungbalai City Government which is being handled by the anti-corruption commission.
