21.2 Million Sinovac Vaccines Come Again To Indonesia
JAKARTA - A total of 21.2 million Sinovac brand vaccines arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tuesday, July 27. Tens of millions of vaccines from China come in the form of raw materials. This was conveyed by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartato.
With the arrival of 21.2 million vaccines in the 30th stage, currently there are more than 171 million vaccine doses owned by Indonesia, both finished and bulk materials.
"The government will continue to try to bring in vaccines through all available channels to ensure the availability of vaccine stocks to achieve the vaccination targets," Airlangga said in a Youtube video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Tuesday, July 27.
Airlangga said the government always ensures safety such as quality or quality, as well as efficacy or efficacy for all types of vaccines obtained.
He said the vaccines provided by Indonesia went through an evaluation process by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), as well as recommendations from ITAGI, WHO, and experts. "People don't need to hesitate or worry about receiving the vaccine," he said.
Airlangga reminded that President Jokowi said that COVID-19 vaccination is a game changer, which means it is a crucial step to determine the success of a country to get out of the pandemic. To achieve herd immunity, around 208 million Indonesians need to be vaccinated. Airlangga said, this number increased after adding a group of children aged 12 to 17 years.
"Currently 718,000 children have received the first dose of vaccination. The sooner, of course, the better," he explained.
However, Airlangga said that vaccination needs to be accompanied by community discipline and must be carried out together. The government continues to encourage community discipline to implement health protocols.
As of July 26, there were 44,728,320 people who had received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 18,129,878 the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
