COVID-19 Update As Of July 26: 28,228 New Cases From Examination Of 160,000 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 160,589 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 28,228 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3,194,733 people and 560,275 active cases", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Monday, July 26.

Today's recovered cases increased by 40,374 cases, bringing the total to 2,549,692 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,487 people and a total of 84,766 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 4,368 cases and a total of 573,437 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 4,021 new cases with a total of 358,101 cases. East Java has 3,157 new cases and a total of 280,260 cases. Then, DI Yogyakarta has 2,667 new cases and a total of 107,445 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 14,665 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 4,855 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 4,660 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 4,490 recovered cases.

No province has reported any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 24,975,057.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 35.60 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 287,987 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, 44,728,320 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 18,129,878 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
