Indonesia's Schedule At The Tokyo Olympics Today, Sunday 25 July
JAKARTA - A number of Indonesian athletes are scheduled to compete on the second day of the Tokyo Olympics, Sunday, July 25.
Some of them have just started competing, but there are those who continue their struggle in this world-class multi-event sport.
As reported by Antara, after finishing sixth or finishing last in heat 1 of the women's lightweight doubles scull number on Saturday, Mutiara Rahma Putri and Melani Putri had the opportunity to compete again.
Mutiara/Melani will again compete with all participants from heat 1, 2, and 3 who are third and bottom through the repechange round.
Mixed doubles pair Praveen Jordan and Melati Daeva Oktavianti will also continue their struggle in the Group C qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics.
In their inaugural match on Saturday, Praveen/Melati beat Australian mixed doubles Simon Wing Hang Leung/Gronya Somerville 20-22, 21-17, 21-13.
Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting will also compete in the women's singles and men's singles in the group stage, respectively.
Meanwhile, surfer Rio Waida will make his debut in a match at Tokyo's Tsurigasaki Beach. The Red and White flag bearers in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics will compete from the first 3 rounds of heat.
Lifters Eko Yuli Irawan and Deni will also compete for medals, going down to the men's 61 kg and 67 kg respectively.
