JAKARTA - The Volunteer Coordination Sector (BKR) of the COVID-19 Task Force launched the COVID-19 Information Assistance Line Service for health workers and the general public in the DKI Jakarta and Greater Bandung Regions.

People who need information about treatment room services at health care facilities can contact the COVID-19 Information Helpline Service which can be accessed via the WhatsApp hotline number 0821-2390-3617.

"We initiated the COVID-19 Information Assistance Line service for several public complaints regarding the lack of information on the location of hospitals or health centers that still have empty treatment rooms," explained the Main Secretary of the Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lilik Kurniawan virtually, Jakarta, Antara, 24 July.

The inauguration was carried out by Lilik accompanied by the Chairman of the BKR COVID-19 Task Force Andre Rahadian, Plt. BNPB Director of Preparedness Pangarso Suryotomo, and all Heads of the BKR Sub-Sector of the COVID-19 Task Force online via the Zoom/Zoom application.

The various services provided by the COVID-19 Information Helpline Service are information on how to handle COVID-19 patients, technical information regarding self-isolation, referral assistance for Hospital and HCU/ICU treatment rooms, ambulance transportation assistance, psychological assistance services, and information needs. others of a personal nature.

Lilik said the decision of patients to go directly to the hospital had an impact on the delay in handling by health workers because the number of patients who entered one health facility was piling up.

"In fact, other health facilities are still available," he said.

As a first step, Lilik said, the COVID-19 Information Helpline Service operates in the DKI Jakarta and Greater Bandung areas. But in the future it can develop to serve the Indonesian people in other wider areas.

The COVID-19 Information Helpline Service is an interactive system that will respond according to the needs and complaints of its users.

"It should be emphasized that the COVID-19 Information Assistance Line Service is an effort by the COVID-19 Task Force BKR which acts as an alternative hotline number in order to maximize the increasing frequency of information response needs in the community," he said

In addition, Lilik said, the service also acts as a contact filter to help ease the burden on Puskesmas and hospitals around the DKI Jakarta and Greater Bandung areas.
