Acting Regent Of Bekasi Prioritize Handling COVID-19

BEKASI - The acting Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan stated that he prioritized the handling and control of COVID-19 in his first 100 working days after being sworn in by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil.

"According to the mandate of the Minister and the Governor, I have to focus on handling COVID-19 because it is still PPKM. There will be an evaluation for the handling, prevention and recovery, it must be fast within a hundred days," he said in Cikarang quoted by Antara, Friday, July 23

He admitted that currently Bekasi Regency is still in PPKM level 4, so that improvements in handling are needed, starting from the level of community compliance, to optimizing testing, tracing, and treatment.

"The target is that the occupancy rate in hospitals must first drop to below 60 percent, then the increase in positive cases must also be suppressed. It takes hard work, everyone, because this is a priority," he continued.

Dani will also go to the field to check on residents affected by COVID-19, especially residents who are undergoing self-isolation at home.

The regional government, he said, had prepared social assistance in the form of food packages to be distributed to isoman residents so that they remain calm at home undergoing isolation.

"Here the government is here to help the affected people. Tomorrow I will go down with the Police Chief and the Dandim because the information is that there are our isoman residents who have not received the assistance," he said.

The Bekasi Regency Government is also trying to keep the data on beneficiaries up to date by coordinating with the village and sub-district governments through the Social Service.

"We make sure that all affected residents receive this social assistance, we continue to try to identify the latest data," he said.

Previously, the issue of COVID-19 was one that Ridwan Kamil emphasized when inaugurating Dani. As the Chief Executive of West Java BPBD, Dani was asked to perfect the handling of COVID-19 in Bekasi Regency.

"As the head of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, hopefully with the presence of Mr. Dani who is also the head of BPBD, the handling of the pandemic in West Java, especially in Bekasi Regency can be more controlled with better coordination," he said.
