Diananda Choirunisa Qualifies For Tokyo Olympics Main Round, Faces Danish Representative Maja Jager In Round Of 32
JAKARTA - The women's individual rankings for the Tokyo Olympics archery will take place on Friday, July 23 at the Yumenoshima Ranking Field. Indonesian athlete Diananda Choirunisa is ranked 40th after scoring 631.
For Nisa, this is her best score this year. The 24-year-old athlete will face the occupants of 25th position Maja Jager (649 points) in the individual preliminary round which will take place on Tuesday, 27 July.
The wind that keeps changing makes it difficult for Nisa to read the wind direction and make corrections, so she can't perform optimally. However, Nisa is grateful for finishing the competition quite well.
"Alhamdulillah, even though there are one or two mistakes. I had made a correction error and there were torn arrows too. Hopefully in the next round I can be more in my best performance," said Nisa after the match in an official statement received by the editors.
His coach, Lilies Handayani, also mentioned wind as a factor that prevented her foster children from performing optimally. Lilies said the direction of the wind kept changing.
"Earlier there was an arrow that was torn. Then, Nisa is still confused about the direction of the wind because it keeps changing. Sometimes from left to right, then from right to left then stop. I hope that in the next round, Nisa will be able to read the wind direction more,” he said.
Meanwhile. The South Korean trio controlled the top three rankings in the women's individual ranking round. An San is in first place with a score of 680, followed by Jang Minhee in second with a score of 677. Kang Chaeyoung is in third place with a score of 675.
In the afternoon session, Riau Ega Salsabila, Arif Dwi Pangestu, and Bagas Prastyadi will participate in the men's individual ranking round.
