Foreign Workers Are Prohibited From Entering Indonesia, MUI: Finally The Government Wants To Hear The Voices Of The People
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Anwar Abbas, positively welcomed the Government's policy through Permenkumham Number 27 of 2021 concerning restrictions on foreigners entering Indonesian territory during the Emergency PPKM period or now PPKM Level 3-4. Anwar said he was relieved by the policy.
"Finally, the government also wants to hear the voices of the people who protest the entry of foreign workers, especially foreign workers from China or China when we are implementing PPKM," said Anwar, Thursday, July 22.
The chairman of PP Muhammadiyah said that many people protested about foreigners because they were free to enter Indonesia when Indonesia was strictly restricting mobility during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, the daily cases and death rates have been increasing lately.
"We protest because we see that they can easily and easily enter and flood Soekarno-Hatta Airport and other airports, and they are free to move within the territory of the Republic of Indonesia," he said. According to Anwar, the entry of Chinese foreigners into Indonesia during Emergency PPKM This has even happened when the implementation of the PSBB gave rise to an unfair perception, where many people were prohibited from going home while foreign workers from China were free to enter Indonesia.
"This is of course very painful for us as a nation. Because we who own this country are restricted and prohibited from doing activities outside the home and going home, but those who are foreigners are allowed and given special rights," he said.
