Corruption In Indramayu, KPK Summons Former West Java DPRD Member Siti Aisyah

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), summoned former West Java DPRD member Siti Aisyah Tuti Handayani, Thursday, July 22.

Siti Aisyah was originally going to be examined as a witness in the alleged bribery case related to project arrangements within the Indramayu Regency Government in 2019. She was questioned for the suspect as West Java DPRD Member Ade Barkah Surahman (ABS).

"Today, the witness examination for the suspect ABS, bribery corruption related to project arrangements within the Indramayu Regency Government in 2019 on behalf of Siti Aisyah Tuti Handayani," said Acting KPK Spokesperson Ali Fikri in a statement quoted by Antara, Jakarta, Thursday, July 22. .

Siti Aisyah's examination was carried out at the KPK Building, Jakarta. The KPK has also named Siti Aisyah as a suspect, but investigators called her as a witness.

The KPK has named Ade Barkah and Siti Aisyah as suspects on April 15, 2021. Ade Barkah is suspected of accepting bribes of Rp. 750 million, while Siti Aisyah is suspected of receiving Rp. 1.050 billion.

Both are suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or letter b or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts Corruption in conjunction with Article 56 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code. It is known that this case is one of many cases that began with the KPK's arrests. On October 15, 2019, the KPK held a hand arrest activity in Indramayu.

As a result, the KPK named four people as suspects, namely the 2014-2019 Indramayu Regent Supendi, Indramayu Regency PUPR Service Head Omarsyah, Indramayu Regency PUPR Office Head Wempy Triyono, and Carsa ES from the private sector.

Currently, the four people have been sentenced by the Corruption Court of Justice and have permanent legal force.

The case was then further developed and in August 2020, the KPK named another suspect, namely West Java DPRD Member Abdul Rozaq Muslim. Currently, it is still in the trial process at the Bandung Corruption Court.

During the construction, it was stated that Carsa allegedly handed over money to Ade Barkah directly with a total of Rp. 750 million. Carsa is also suspected of giving money in cash directly to Abdul Rozaq or through intermediaries with a total of around Rp9.2 billion.

From the money received by Abdul Rozaq, it was suspected that it was given to other West Java DPRD members including Siti Aisyah for a total of Rp. 1.050 billion.
