East Kalimantan Adds 900 COVID Cases Today, 10 Regencies/Cities Still Have Red Zone Status

KALTIM - The development of COVID-19 cases in East Kalimantan Province still shows a fairly high increase. Today, Wednesday, July 21, 900 additional cases were recorded.

The details, in Berau 142 cases, West Kutai 15 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 102 cases, East Kutai 55 cases, Mahakam Ulu 71 cases, Paser 24 cases, North Penajam Paser 32 cases, Balikpapan 294 cases, Bontang 19 cases and Samarinda 146 cases. For cases of recovery also experienced an increase of 486 cases.

"In general, cases in East Kalimantan have started to decline, but the public must remain vigilant because currently ten regencies and cities in East Kalimantan are still in red zone status," said East Kalimantan Province COVID-19 Task Force spokesman Andi Muhammad Ishak in Samarinda, Antara.

Additional recovered cases occurred in Berau 32 cases, West Kutai 15 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 67 cases, East Kutai 85 cases, Mahakam Ulu 13 cases, Paser 9 cases, North Penajam Paser 38 cases, Balikpapan 131 cases, Bontang 33 cases and Samarinda 63 case.

"The total number of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan is 99,605 cases, while 80,311 cases have been declared cured," said Andi.

Meanwhile, the number of death cases still experienced a fairly high increase, namely as many as 60 cases, with details in Berau 2 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 15 cases, East Kutai 3 cases, Balikpapan 34 cases, Bontang 3 cases and Samarinda 3 cases.

"The total number of COVID-19 patients who died in East Kalimantan was 2,616 people," said Andi.

Based on data from the East Kalimantan Province COVID-19 Task Force as of July 21, 2021, 16,678 COVID-19 patients are still undergoing treatment.

The patients were spread in Balikpapan as many as 5,672 people, Kutai Kartanegara 2,667 people, Bontang 1,877 people, Samarinda 1,572 people and East Kutai 1,423 people.

Furthermore, Berau 1,184 people, West Kutai 1,177 people, North Panajam Paser 490 people, Paser 428 people and Mahakam Ulu 188 people.
