Impact Of Emergency PPKM, KPK Detainees Pray Eid In Their Prisons And Receive Online Visits
JAKARTA - The suspects in the corruption case at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Detention Center have performed Eid al-Adha prayers.
However, this activity was not carried out at the mosque due to the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) amid an increase in COVID-19 cases.
The Eid prayer was carried out this morning at 06.00 WIB to 07.00 WIB.
"(Eiduladha prayers, ed) are held in their respective detention centers," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Tuesday, July 20.
In addition, the KPK does not facilitate eating together in the face-to-face room. This is done to prevent the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in the KPK Detention Center due to crowds.
"The KPK Branch Detention Center does not facilitate eating together in the face-to-face room, but they are welcome to do it in their respective detention cells," said Ali.
Furthermore, the anti-terror commission still allows their detainees to be visited by their families. However, this activity is carried out online to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
The suspects in corruption cases, said Ali, got three hours to stay in touch with their families during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
"The schedule of visits by the prisoners' families is carried out online from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB," he concluded.
