Deputy Mayor Of Medan Gives Aid To Families Affected By The Pandemic
MEDAN - The City Government (Pemko) of Medan, North Sumatra, handed over assistance in the form of basic necessities to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The aid that we handed out yesterday included 20 kilograms of rice, two kilograms of sugar, and one liter of edible oil," said Deputy Mayor of Medan, Aulia Rachman, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 19.
The aid was handed over directly to several families who live in the Valley of Berkah Gang, Sunggal Village, Medan Sunggal.
The heads of families as recipients of this basic necessities, he explained, previously worked at a swallow nest processing factory.
"They are forced to be laid off and laid off (termination of employment). Because the company where they work, restricts production activities," said Aulia.
He hoped that the assistance from the Medan City Government could help ease the burden on the affected families.
"I ask those who have been affected to be patient and steadfast in facing trials," said Aulia.
