Jokowi Sacrifice A Cow Weighing 1.2 Tons At The Al Akbar Mosque In Surabaya
SURABAYA - President Joko Widodo sacrificed a cow weighing 1.2 tons to celebrate Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijriah at the Al Akbar National Mosque in Surabaya, East Java.
The spokesman for the Al Akbar National Mosque in Surabaya, Helmy M Noor, said that there have been seven Eid al-Adha times, during his tenure as President, Jokowi made sacrifices at the second largest mosque in the country.
"President Jokowi's cow for Eid al-Adha this year is a limousine. It weighs 1.2 tons, or exactly 1,232 kilograms," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 19.
The sacrificial cattle are the best livestock products in East Java purchased from breeders from Sukapura District, Probolinggo Regency, East Java.

Helmy explained that to coincide with the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Al Akbar National Mosque in Surabaya canceled the congregational Eid al-Adha prayer for the general public.
