Seven Youths Who Disappeared While Celebrating Birthdays In The Golo Lusang Mountains Found Safe
KUPANG - Seven youths who went missing while celebrating their birthday in the Golo Lusang Mountains, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara were found safe.
"The Basarnas team found the seven young men safe and sound in the protected forest area of Golo Lusang, Manggarai Regency on Monday," said Head of the Maumere Search and Rescue Office, I Putu Sudayana, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 19.
The seven youths were reported missing while celebrating their birthday in the protected forest area of Golo Lusang, Sunday, July 18. The youths disappeared about 131 Km from the West Manggarai SAR Post.
I Putu Sudayana as SMC (Sar Mission Coordinator) said to search for the seven youths, the SAR team from the West Manggarai SAR Post, totaling four people, moved to the scene to help search for the victims.
He said the SAR team, which was equipped with SAR Mountenering equipment, carried out SAR operations with the combined Manggarai SAR Team such as the Manggarai Police, 15 people.
Then five people from Langke Rembong Police, 10 people from Kodim 1612 Manggarai, four people from the Ruteng Koramil, 15 people from Brimob Ruteng, five people from BPBD Ruteng, as well as families and local communities.
After searching for the seven youths, the SAR team was found on Monday (19/7) at 11.30 WITA about 1.1 KM from where the youths originally gathered.
"The seven youths got lost in the protected forest area of Golo Lusang. The SAR team found the youths about 1.1 km from their original location," said Sudayana.
After being found, he said, the seven youths were immediately taken to the Manggarai Regency BKSDA guard post and handed over to the families who had been waiting for their arrival.
"The condition of the seven youths is safe, but their bodies are quite weak when they are found by the joint SAR team," said Sudayana.
He said the SAR operation to search for the seven youths in Manggarai Regency, Flores Island was carried out successfully because of the hard work of all SAR potential in the area who participated in searching for the victims.
"Thanks to the great coordination and synergy between the joint SAR teams, the search operation resulted in the seven youths being found safe," said Sudayana.
