COVID-19 Update As Of July 19: New Cases 34,257, Deaths Reach 1,338 People

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 160,686 specimens were examined with the results of 34,257 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2,911,733 people and 542,938 active cases," said Ministry of Health data, Monday, July 19.

Today's recovered cases increased by 32,217 cases, bringing the total to 2,293,875 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,338 people and a total of 74,920 people. The number of deaths today is the highest during the pandemic.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 7,287 cases and a total of 523,878 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 5,000 new cases with a total of 751,312 cases. East Java has 4,423 new cases and a total of 243,591 cases. Then, Central Java had 4,042 new cases and a total of 325,805 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 12,674 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 5,218 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 3,668 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 2,865 recovered cases.

No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 23,486,979.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 38.92 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 269,455 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

To date, 42,095,531 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 16,400,351 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
