Suspected Of Raping Japanese Woman, Olympic Staff From Uzbekistan Arrested
JAKARTA - Police arrested a student from Uzbekistan for allegedly raping a Japanese woman while the two were working part-time at the National Stadium in preparation for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
According to the police, quoted by Antara from Kyodo, Monday, July 19, Davronbek Rakhmatullaev (30) who entered the stadium as a staff member to provide food to the press, allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s on chairs and in the aisle of the venue at around 9pm. , Friday.
The man denied the accusations. Quoting from her statement, the police said that the woman did not resist. The two had never met before that incident.

According to police, the man from Uzbekistan came to Japan in 2014, and is currently on leave from a university in Aichi Prefecture. He is believed to have stayed at a hotel in Tokyo to work at the stadium.
