Amien Rais Says TNI-Polri Are Not Involved In FPI Laskar Shooting, Rizieq Shihab Doesn't Accept
JAKARTA - Former FPI leader Rizieq Shihab did not accept Amien Rais' statement that the TNI and Polri were not involved in the shooting of six FPI troops on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.
This was conveyed by Rizieq's attorney, Aziz Yanuar. Rizieq considered Amien Rais' statement too premature. Because it can only be proven in court. Then, Rizieq also called Amien Rais a blunder.
"That Amien Rais' statement was a blunder because it harmed the team and the victims (FPI soldiers) and their families, on the contrary, it was to the advantage of the opposing party," Rizieq said in his statement, Monday, July 19.
Rizieq said that Amien Rais' statement was also counterproductive to his group's version. In fact, said Rizieq, Amien's remarks could be used by the government to prove that there were no gross human rights violations.
"Amien Rais' statement is counterproductive, so it becomes an opportunity for opponents to exploit. The regime via Menkopolhukam Mahfud MD was immediately pleased with Amien Rais' statement," said Rizieq.
Rizieq Shihab's lawyer, Aziz Yanuar concluded that Rizieq strongly rejected Amien Rais' statement. However, Aziz said, Rizieq still appreciates the work of TP3 formed by Amien Rais to drag all those involved in the clashes on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.
As is known, TP3 official Amien Rais admitted that the TNI and Polri were not involved in the deaths of six FPI Laskars on the KM 50 Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road in December 2020. He conveyed this when launching the 'White Book' which contains data and facts related to the murder incident of six FPI Laskars, last Wednesday, July 7.
"After reading it well, institutionally, this is important, the police and the TNI are not involved in the scenario in the implementation of these gross human rights violations. Alhamdulillah, we are grateful," said Amien.
This white book, said Amien, contains information from the family and witnesses who know for sure the ins and outs of the shooting incident on the Cikampek Toll Road. According to Amien Rais, the sources presented are primary sources so they can be accounted for.
"So it's not B's words, A's words that we are exposing. Like what's in this white paper, the TNI-Polri are not involved in the scenario or implementation of heavy human rights budgeting, therefore we are grateful," said Amien.
"So we are proud, Alhamdulillah, yes, the backbone of the nation's security is the Police, and the backbone of defense is the TNI, it is not involved at all," he continued.
